BRAVE Coalition™ Foundation Celebrates 9th Annual Brave Day
BRAVE Day is a National day of awareness and education established by the BRAVE Coalition Foundation, spreading the word that women have the right to restoration after breast cancer treatment. About 1 in 8 U.S. women (about 12%) will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime . Yet, only about 30% will be offered reconstruction following aggressive surgery.
BRAVE empowers the survivor by providing education and resources, so they are aware of the multitude of choices and opportunities available to experience life beyond cancer, as her whole self, however she defines it.
BRAVE Day will be celebrated at nearly 100 locations nationwide.
“BRAVE’s work in bridging the gap between patients’ needs and insurance barriers allows more access, less worry, better care, and expedited healing,” Dr. Regina Fearmonti, plastic surgeon.
BRAVE’s mission is to educate patients of their right to breast reconstruction when diagnosed with breast cancer, and to find resources to help correct patient’s congenital breast deformities.
