One variation of abdominoplasty is the mini-tummy tuck. This uses a shorter incision just at or above the pubic region. A mini tummy tuck is used to remove excess lower abdominal skin. The ideal candidate for a mini tummy tuck is a person who has less excess skin or fat that is localized in the mid-abdomen area and wants to tighten the abdominal area below the belly button.
During your tummy or mini tummy tuck recovery, dressings or bandages may be applied to your incisions, and you may be wrapped in an elastic bandage or a compression garment to minimize swelling and support your abdomen as it heals following surgery.
Small, thin tubes may be temporarily placed under the skin to drain any excess blood or fluid that may collect.
